We once had some botulism in our jar of salsa. I’d noticed that it looked a little… bubbly when I took it out, but it wasn’t until we each took our first bite of taco (and promptly spit it out) that I realized that salsa isn’t meant to be carbornated. (I assume it was botulism, since I’ve heard that’s what happens, but it could have been another bacteria.)
