The opening reception at ISIT was fun, although I had to register about 5 minutes before going in so I was carrying around my conference bag the whole time. In keeping with the new-ish format, the proceedings come on a CD and we have both an 8.5×11 book of abstracts and a pamphlet with the technical program. The book is significantly more useful, since it has a landscape chart of each time slot with all of the paper titles in one row, which makes it much easier to plan than the pamphlet.
I had some nice conversations with people about research and non-research, and I’m looking forward to the next five days. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to talk to people between the 17 talks during each day.
